Meet Our Team

Get to know the minds behind our quantum computing lab and their fascinating work.

Mauricio Gutiérrez Arguedas

Mauricio Gutiérrez Arguedas got his Ph.D. from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2015 under the mentorship of Professor Kenneth R. Brown. He focused on how to approximate realistic quantum noise with efficiently simulable error channels and on the decohering effect of quantum error correction. After a short postdoc at Georgia Tech, he continued his research as a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Professor Markus Müller in Swansea University. His postdoctoral research focused on exploring the implementation of small quantum error-correcting codes and protocols on trapped-ion systems.
